Solid Weekend For The Jeffer – 3rd at Accord, 6th at OCFS

The Jeffer Jeff Heotzler pilots the Roberts Racing 14h 358 Modified at OCFS on May 30th, 2015. The Jeffer went on to finish 6th vs. the big block modifieds in the feature!

On Friday night, The Jeffer continued his early season success at the Ulster County Bullring in Accord, driving the Academy Transmissions 2a to a 3rd place finish. The Jeffer had a shot at stealing the win but his late race heroics were denied by a lap car who happened to take the same lane as the 2a was performing a 3 wide pass for the lead. Jeff Jr., who was making his 2nd start of the year at Accord, registered a 7th place finish to back up his 6th place effort last week.

Due to engine issues that plagued the 14h at Bridgeport last weekend, The Jeffer was forced to pilot Jeff Jr’s 14h small block modified at OCFS. In the feature, The Jeffer escaped serious damage in a multi-car pile up in the opening laps, and after a quick visit to the pits, was able to rejoin the tail end of the field. Restarting 15th, The Jeffer started to make his move and as the laps ticked on, the Roberts Racing small block modified was picking its way through the field. During the last 5 laps, The Jeffer was able to pass 3 cars, scoring an impressive 6th place finish.

As of right now, the big block power plant is on schedule to be completed in the next couple of days and if all goes well, will be back in the 14h in time for OCFS’s Nostalgia Night on Saturday!
