The Jeffer Collects 4th Place Finish, Jeff Jr. Takes 8th at Accord

The Jeffer and the Schrufer Racing 2a team looked to be on their way to collecting their 2nd win of the season at the Accord Speedway, but a wrong choice in tire compound spoiled the run about halfway into the 30 lap feature.

Electing to try a softer compound on the right rear, The Jeffer got off to a good start and took the lead on a restart in the early stages of the feature event. However, when the laps clicked off and heat started to build in the right rear tire, it started to slowly give up, opening the door for the 406 of Ricci to grab the lead.

The Jeffer was able to stay in the top 5, which at the end of the say isn’t a bad result, but it wasn’t a win.

Jeff Jr. was back in the 14H small block and backed up last week’s top 10 with a strong 8th place effort.

This week, The Jeffer will be at the Penn Can Speedway on Tuesday night for the “Hot Summer Night” race #5 of the Short Track Super Series where he currently sits 2nd in the overall championship standings. On Friday, the point season comes to a close at the Accord Speedway and the 2a team looks to finish on a high note!
